Willow Springs International Raceway

This past weekend I had the opportunity to go to Willow Springs International Raceway http://www.willowspringsraceway.com/ with the Cobra Owners Club of America - Orange County (COCOA) http://www.cocoaoc.org/. I can't believe how much fun it is to be on the track with the sounds of revving engines and the smell of exhaust and burnt rubber.

I had the opportunity to go out on the track for passengers sessions in a a Fastback Mustang, a Cobra, and a Nascar race car. Next time the COCOA is out there I need to actually get behind the wheel. This weekend has given me a need for speed. I have to get to race school fast, no pun intended. Check out the videos and pictures from the weekend.

At the beginning of the weekend an instructor takes all the drivers out on the race track to talk about each turn, where they should be on the track and what gear to be in. I recorded the instructor, he was very informative. I had no idea there was so much planning and thought into racing around a track.

The Gollner Museum

Tucked away in Kokomo, Indiana, the Gollner's private museum is a hidden gem! Bob Gollner was a gratious host and took us through the amazing facility, giving us the history on every vehicle. It's always neat to hear the history of the cars and why it's special to the owners. Below are a few photos from the tour. Bob also has some vehicles on display at the Automotive Heritage Museum in Kokomo. If you haven't stopped by there yet, please do! Here's their website: http://www.automotiveheritagemuseum.com/ .

Louisville Fall Swap Meet

Whether you were looking to buy a car, or find some parts, the Louisville Swap Meet was the place to be this past weekend! Tons of vendors poured into the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center for the two day event. While attendance may have seemed low, enthusiasts were still out and about looking for that special part for their project. With a Collector Car Auction held all day Saturday, one was bound to find the car of their dreams....and for a great price! There are two components that make an auction successful, one is bringing great products to sell, the other is having people there to buy them. This auction had some great cars.........and we'll just leave it at that. Enjoy the photos, if you're interested in learning more about the next swap meet in Louisville, check out their website: http://www.louisvillefallswapmeet.com
