Vintage Motorbike and Scooter Meet

VVVVVRRROOOOOMMMM!! I'm sure a lot of you remember Cushmans, Whizzers, Salsbury's, etc. If you want to see THOUSANDS gather in the same place, check out Portland, Indiana in July. Here's a website for more information:http://www.vintagemotorbike.org/ . The meet officially started July 12th, although many rolled in 3 or even 4 days early. Enthusiasts from all over the country come to Portland to enjoy the Meet. The best part is the cost of everything is very low! If you're a member, you get in free! If you want food, it's cheap! If you want ice cream, it's $2.50 for a pint! Yes, a PINT! The club has worked really hard to make it affordable to attend the meet, and that might be the secret of their success. It's going on 38 years!

2010 North Shore Corvette Club Father's Day Show

The Corvettes were out in full force this year in Libertyville, Illinois for the North Shore Corvette club's Father's Day Show! This event, which has become a northern Chicagoland staple, had a great turnout of Corvettes as well as many other classics looking to participate. The folks in the NSCC do a great job of putting on an organized show geared to bring out spectators both young and old to enjoy a day of cool cars, great music and family fun! 19th Hot Rod Nationals

Call it what you will, Good Guys, Hot Rod Nationals, cool show at ORP (O'Reilly Raceway Park); this show rocked out last weekend! Customs and classics from all over the U.S. and Canada descended upon Indianapolis, Brownsburg to be exact, to show, race, and cruise. Rain has been an unpleasant visitor the past 5 years and made an appearance again this year too. That didn't stop people from coming out to support the show. Hagerty's Employee-restored 1930 Model A. Yep, that's right! Hagerty employees restored that beauty. They learned what it takes to restore a vehicle and gained a deeper understanding of why people are so hooked on the hobby!

Quad Cities Cruisers Open Run XXVII Car Show

It was a beautiful evening in Moline, Illinois last Saturday, the site of the annual Quad Cities Cruisers Open Run Car show. The show got off to a slow start due to some threatening early afternoon weather, but as soon as the skies cleared up the sweet rides started cruisin' in! It was a great turnout this year as car nuts both young and old showed up to make this a great family event. There was even a hot air balloon on site offering tethered rides for the kiddies! Hunnert Car Heads Up!

Last Saturday Midwestern Hot Rod enthusiasts braved the wacky Wisconsin weather and came down to Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove to participate in the second annual Hunnert Car Heads-up. The Heads-up is a vintage hot rod drag race event that is put on by the Chrome Czars motor club out of Chicago, the same group that puts together the legendary Hunnert Car pile up (http://www.hunnertcarpileup.com/). What makes the Heads up so wild is that not only do you get a chance to see some of the most dynamic pre-'65 hot rods in the world on display, you also get to see them stretch their legs on the dragway! It is important to note that although we here at Hagerty love to see the classics have their day on the track, we currently are not able to offer any coverage while they are being raced.
