Model A Restorers Meet- Terre Haute, IN

A cold spell may have passed through Indiana, but that didn't stop Model A restorers and enthusiasts from coming out to share their passion! Over 30 Model A's showed up for the regional Model A Restorer's Club (M.A.R.C.) meet this past weekend in Terre Haute. If you weren't a fan of Model A's in the past, consider attending one of their meets. You learn to really appreciate them for their design and simplicity. The M.A.R.C. A great way to spend an afternoon!

I had the opportunity to tour the Volo museum in Northern Illinois yesterday and it was quite a treat. Volo is located about 50 miles Northwest of Chicago and the museum houses some of the coolest, craziest and all around most famous cars imaginable. In addition to their "Hollywood Star Cars" collection which contains a number of George Barris designed classics they also have several showrooms of cars for sale as well as a full military museum, five antique malls and a gift shop! You will want to set aside plenty of time if you do visit, it is quite an experience. Also, check out their website http://www.volocars.com/ for more information and current news. Cool Cruise 2010

The Cool Cruise in La Verne, CA really lived up to it's name on Saturday, April 3rd. There were almost 700 cars, trucks, and race cars and 15o Motorcycles taking over blocks of Old Town La Verne. There was fun for all which attracted thousands of spectators. The festivities also included a chili cook off, vendors of all types and live classic rock & roll by "The Answer". You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day in La Verne. This show started in 2000 and has evolved into one of the largest community events in La Verne. See you next year on Easter weekend at the Cool Cruise.

I worked the Cool Cruise along side local Hagerty agent Rose Stevens with Kessler Alair Insurance Services in Upland, CA. She works this show every year.

Eugene Roadster Show 2010

Up in the Northwest, Oregon sure is starting the year off right! The Eugene Roadster Show was held on March 20-21 at the Lane Event Center. Thousands of spectators from around the NW attended the show to view over 100 beautiful classic and modified cars. By most popular vote, the People's Choice award went to Mr. John Marval for his 1919 Model "T" Ford, and its elaborate green custom paint job. This car truly caught everyone's eye who entered the building, and included a "Mr. Toads Wild Ride" theme. Other participants that walked away with an award included cars such as a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, a 1933-34 Ford Roadster, 1949 Cadillac Sedanette Coupe, and many more. For the car enthusiasts out there, the details on the bodywork and paint on these cars was phenomenal!

Jaguar XJ13 - WHAT A HISTORY!!

It's not every day you stumble upon a $20,000,000 car! No, I didn't accidentally put too many 0's, this one of a kind masterpiece is value at $20 million. Instead of attempting to describe it's wonderful history, it's best to refer readers directly to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XJ13 . One note is that Wikipedia states it is worth $11 million, but rumor has it, recently someone offered to purchase it for the big $20 a couple years ago!
This particular Jaguar typically sits in a museum in Coventry, but came over the pond recently to be displayed at the Amelia Island Concours. It's on it's way around the U.S. and made a brief pit-stop in Indianapolis, Indiana for the JCNA (Jaguar Club of North America) Annual General Meet. I can only thank whomever had the pull to get the driver of the transport semi to detour off to downtown Indy. It was amazing watching people walk by the amazing car and not know what they were seeing. Oh, I failed to mention, there was a D-type sitting right next to it as well, another incredible Jag you don't see everyday! To the 'car people' in this world, it's a VERY rare opportunity!

Good Guys 28th All American Get Together

Over 3,000 all American classic cars and hot rods cruised into the 28th All American Get Together at the Alameda County Fair Grounds in Pleasanton, CA on Saturday March 27th and Sunday March 28th. It was the first big show of the season and it did not disappoint. The weather was great and 1000's of spectators showed up to take in the event. Here are a few pictures from the event:
