Vintage Military Vehicles Show
A little sunshine, combined with a lot of rain and wind didn't stop the Puget Sound Military Vehicle Collectors Club from having a fun weekend! The club held their Annual Spring Convoy and Vehicle Show at Triple X Root Beer Drive-In in Issaquah, WA on Sat. Apr 24. The club gathered in downtown Redmond to start the day, cruised to Lk Sammamish State Park, then arrived at the Drive-In just before lunchtime. Spectators from around the area came to view the incredible vintage vehicles. After some fun in the...rain, the PSMVCC departed later in the afternoon to head back up to Clearview for a night of camping complete with a bonfire.

VCRA Ruffneck Rally
Ponca City, Oklahoma?? Ok, I've never heard of it either until last weekend.
About 29 vintage cars decended on Ponca City last Thursday to take part in the Vintage Car Rally Association's (VCRA) first rally of the year, the Ruffneck Rally. It was an awesome 3 days of spirited competition. For those who aren't familiar with rallies, check out the VCRA's website: http://vintagecarrally.com/ . You can also see what futures rallies are coming up in your area!
Here's a piece from their website on why the association was formed:
"The VINTAGE CAR RALLY ASSOCIATION, INC (VCRA) was formed in 2006 with two distinct purposes...
1.To provide a unique forum for antique, vintage and classic car enthusiasts to compete in timed / controlled speed / distance rally competitions, while also testing the endurance levels of both man and machine. This is perhaps the most challenging motor sports event still available to the average “Car Guy”, regardless of level of experience.
2.VCRA founders agreed to enter into this venture on one key condition, it would be a non-profit entity, and all proceeds would be donated to charity. Our charity of choice has been the Autism Society of America and/or Autism Awareness programs in need."
So you get to have fun, compete with other enthusiasts, and know your money's going towards a great cause? Sounds pretty AWESOME to me!
Consider taking part in one of these rallies. It's a blast and best of all.........your insurance covers it......well, at least Hagerty does!
Yes, you can run newer vehicles in this rally. But it's more fun to drive the classics!

The 54th Annual Portland Roadster Show
The 2010 Portland Roadster Show attracted thousands of visitors and did not disappoint! With over 100 entries never before viewed by the public until this weekend, there was quite the vast array of over 300 Customs, Street Rods, Roadsters, Bikes, Trucks, you name it. Whether you came to drool over the beautiful vehicles including the world famous "Roswell Rod", get an autograph from legendary Chip Foose, or meet American Graffiti star Candy Clark in person, there was fun to be had all around at the Oregon Convention Center!

The 27th Annual WPC Car Show and Swap
It was a great day for a car show in Elmhurst, Illinois this past Sunday. The Larry Roesch Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealership was the site of the 27th Annual Car show and swap put on by the Northern Illinois Chapter of the WPC Chrysler Products Restorers Club. Thanks to their efforts, and a big assist to some great April weather, the show saw a record number of entrants this year and served as a great kickoff to the Northern Illinois car show season! In addition to the great collection of Mopar classics on hand there was also a wide variety of automotive beauties that spanned all eras and classes. Here are a few photos of the show field, enjoy!
2010 Spring Charlotte AutoFair
The AACA Hornet's Nest Region hosts another exciting event at this year's Food Lion AutoFair at the Charlotte Motor Speedway!
This year's Food Lion AutoFair was filled with over 4,000 classic cars, 50 car clubs, 100's of vendors, a judged car show, a car corral and a classic car auction! This car event sounds more like a festival than a show. There were thousands of classic car enthusiasts lining the gates to catch a glimpse at some of the most beautiful cars in the Southeast. The car corral circled the speedway while car clubs enjoyed the grass on the infield.

Mike Munao, HNR Vice President Youth Development, and Tabetha Salsbury, Hagerty Insurance-Youth Advocacy Coordinator, collaborated to making these two programs a huge success.
The future of youth involvement in the collector car hobby is important, and these two programs encourage and educate youths on classic cars and the hobby. The excitement of collector car hobby is spreading through the young and young at heart!
The childern score on four topics including sound of the horn, interior, details, paint and under the hood. Youth have the opprotunity to speak with car owners and view excellent classics! The Youth Judging program is a part of Operation Ignite; Connecting kids with cars. Operation Ignite is hosting a Young Designers Contest for youth between the ages of 13 and 17.
